Behind the scene Dutch Dance

This page has been added in February. We will start practice in mid March. I will try to update weekly, enjoy.

We will be giving a Free pair of Wooden shoes away                      again this year, so check back in for details.

I began dutch dance in 10th grade. 19?? Barb my partner and I danced together all thru high school. After High School we participated for three years in alumni dutch dance. When we got the campground I had to hang up my shoes. In 2002 I could stand it no longer. I started dancing again. In 2006 Barb also came out of retirement. Yea!!!!!!!! Just like high school. Wait.... Wait.... I don't remember this dance being so long. I don't remember kicking being such hard work. But, what fun!

We where so happy when our daughter Mandy chose to Dutch Dance in tenth grade, she is now a sophamore in college. When the girls are in 10th grade they may join Dutch Dance. They start to learn the dance in January, practice it two times a week. Once they learn, they start in March like the Alumni. Just like any other sport they discover new muscles they didn't know they had. This picture is from the Mother, Daughter (or Son) dance during Tulip Time. What Fun, and truly a dream come true for Mom and Dad. Mandy stills joins Mom for the Mother-Daughter dance on the first Sunday of Tulip Time.

And so the season is almost here!!! YEA!!!

All our costumes have passed inspections. No weight gain this year. Every year our costumers undergo a inspection to make sure that they are authintic, in good condition, and fit properly. (Some of the gals that are expecting have to have some major alterations done.) Barb had to get a new pair of shoes this year, last year they cracked. And guess what size shoes she wears.41  As you can see she does not have huge feet, the shoes are 27cm.
